Łańsk is situated on a huge area of 88 ha. Situated directly on the beautiful and crystal-clear Łański Lake, the largest in Warmia. The Łyna River, untouched by civilization, flows through it.
Łańsk was a secret government holiday center. On the old maps from the 1950s - 1970s, we won't find Łańsk. From the 1950s, it was the area of the Office of the Council of Ministers, inaccessible to anyone except the highest state officials, their guests, the army and staff. From 1952, the center in Łańsk often hosted Bolesław Bierut, who decided to expand the facility.
